  12. cancellations by power mongering newbie "news.answers moderation
  13. team" members.  Please complain to the moderators of news.answers
  14. if you notice this article or its companions get early cancellation.
  15. It should not expire until September 15, 1994 at those sites that

  20. Here is a list of known GEOGRAPHIC DISTRIBUTIONS.

  22. o  PLEASE.  If you don't know what a distribution is, DON'T SUBMIT ANY!
  23. o  If you don't know what a distribution is, do not ask me because I don't
  24.    know.  Post.  Maybe someone else can explain it to all of us.
  25. o  PLEASE.  If you have questions, POST.  I do not know the answer.  Really.
  26. o  PLEASE.  Use the subject line of the list you expect to be updated.

  28. o  The list is not complete, nor necessarily correct.
  29. o  Please feel free to add to it, or point out things that shouldn't be there.
  30. o  If you note inconsistencies or misspellings, please send them along as 
  31.    "corrections".  No mistake is too small to correct.
  32. o  It is now presumed that all previously existing distributions have been
  33.    added, and any new distributions must be submitted under the "new" rule.

  36.   discarded without notification by an apathetic computer.

  43. HOW TO CORRECT THE LIST:

  46. NEW DISTRIBUTIONS:

  49.    In order to add a NEW distribution to the list, its request must be jointly 
  50.    submitted by at least two system administrators prepared to state they are 
  51.    using it (not just planning to use it).  What this means is that you must
  52.    send the request in, and cc your friend, who must *do the same*!!

  55. DELETIONS:

  58.    If someone mails me a message saying "DELETE distribution foo", then
  59.    I will post the request to news.admin.misc.  If there are two replies 
  60.    in the next 60 days from the date of the distributions post, saying 
  61.    "don't delete it, I still use it", then the distribution stays else it goes.

  73. o  The "distribution tag" should be lower case.  The others should be upper 
  74.    case iff they have been defined elsewhere as a distribution.  If it *has* 
  75.    been defined, then please use the actual distribution tag.  
  76.  
  77. o  If a distribution has *not* been defined, then please spell out the name
  78.    in lower case and mark it with an asterisk (*); 
  79.    
  80.    DO NOT USE YOUR POSTAL CODE.  See "aa", "ne", and "pnw" for examples.

  82. o  The first word or words after the colon (:) (but before the first slash)
  83.    should describe the word before the colon, completely.  The first character 
  84.    after the colon is a space, one space only.
